Nice Slate article on why Al Gore deserved the Nobel Peace Prize - how do global warming solutions promote peace?

Did Al Gore deserve a Nobel Prize for his work on global warming?

I never could stand that guy..

he is such a weenie

Al Gore

He is actually one of my favorite people :-)

I first learned about him in college, he wrote the forward to a great book Ozone Crisis : The 15-Year Evolution of a Sudden Global Emergency that I had to read for a really annoying class called 'Ethical Issues in Technology'
It wasn't a bad class, I was just annoyed with having to take it. It was however a good book with an excellent forward. Bush 1.0 was president at the time and this Al Gore guy was just a Senator.

He really is a smart and hard working guy and has spent lots of time in the senate and the house setting committees and proposing legislation on high tech and environmental issues.
He was also probably the best informed Vice-President as he refused to go to any meeting with out first reading everything he could on the topic at hand.
I often imagine what it would be like to have a president who actually reads up on the issues from multiple sources in an effort to gain a complete understanding.

I am a HUGE Al Gore fan! I was surprised by the Peace Prize for his work in science, but as long as he is being recognized for his work, I don't care.
