I have begun to realize that I am slowly getting out of shape. My goal was to get into better shape, I don't think I was going in the right direction. Yeah, I know I am not fat. But I have been there before (no one would have called me fat, but my midsection had about 20 extra pounds on it).
Heather has been walking Barney about 4 times a week. So I was getting lazy, I would take him for a mile in the morning and a mile in the evening. Considering I used to walk 5-8 miles a day with the dog, this was not much.
So last night Barney and I walked 3 miles, this morning we walked 3 miles, and this evening we walked 4. It feels good (now, if I can just figure out where I put my sneakers, I won't have to worry about walking in shoes again tomorrow morning).
Step one in getting into better shape, it to get into the shape I was in when I wanted to start getting into better shape.
Step 2 is to be decided when I get better at step 1. I wonder if anyone has ever written a serial diet book.
