Evening Walk

Just got back from a nice evening walk with Barney.

I have begun to realize that I am slowly getting out of shape. My goal was to get into better shape, I don't think I was going in the right direction. Yeah, I know I am not fat. But I have been there before (no one would have called me fat, but my midsection had about 20 extra pounds on it).

Heather has been walking Barney about 4 times a week. So I was getting lazy, I would take him for a mile in the morning and a mile in the evening. Considering I used to walk 5-8 miles a day with the dog, this was not much.

So last night Barney and I walked 3 miles, this morning we walked 3 miles, and this evening we walked 4. It feels good (now, if I can just figure out where I put my sneakers, I won't have to worry about walking in shoes again tomorrow morning).

Step one in getting into better shape, it to get into the shape I was in when I wanted to start getting into better shape.

Step 2 is to be decided when I get better at step 1. I wonder if anyone has ever written a serial diet book.

Step two

Weight training. Not that you asked. Weight training and lots of vegetables and lower fat food and 2 quarts of water a day. It's really quite simple. Not that you would know it by looking at all the fad diets on the market. But hey, they're about taking your money, not about helping you to be healthy.

HEy, I see a picture of Tavalon!!! Cool. And hey, on the getting in shape thing, yes, weighttraining and I like doing martialarts. It's good exercise and it's social. Sea_gaagii, have you considered any martial arts, maybe taekwondo again?
