Software Development Engineer (Req 102817)

Interested in home networking or wireless networking? The Broadband Networking group is looking for a Software Design Engineer to work on the embedded, Windows CE based firmware for the next generation gateways and routers. We want to find a software developer who is interested in designing and developing advanced features for our next generation devices. This is a great opportunity to challenge your design and development skills, as well as learn a lot about how routers work internally. Qualifications include strong C/C++ coding and design skills with a minimum of 3 years experience; experience developing networking code; demonstrated experience working through a full product cycle; good communication skills; ability to work in a team environment. Additionally it would be a plus to have experience with Windows CE development and wireless networking. A degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering would be preferred.

Software Program Manager (Req 140211)

Join the Broadband Networking team in the Hardware Division. Lead the effort to make Broadband Networking installation, monitoring and maintenance painless and simple in numerous home networking scenarios. BBN is looking for a talented, highly motivated individual with solid program management skills and a demonstrated history of shipping software products. This individual contributor role is key in enabling the automatic, trouble-free integration between Microsoft’s Broadband Networking products, Windows PCs and other consumer devices. As a member of the Program Management team, your responsibilities will include working with BBN software engineers, UI design team, other program managers, numerous internal partners, and external partners to define the strategy, goals and software requirements for the platform, as well as planning, specifying and overseeing the development and integration of the platform’s software components. Qualifications: 3-5 years of industry experience. A familiarity with networking (TCP/IP, UPnP, Home Networking, UDP, etc.) is highly desirable, as is a BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field. Experience with software program management and C/C++ programming as well as good interpersonal communication skills and written communication skills are required.

Software Design Engineer in Test (Req in Progress)

Do you want to work on the latest networking technologies? Do you want to impact the way people connect to and experience the internet? The Broadband Networking Hardware team is looking for a talented Software Design Engineer in Test to be part of a team testing low level embedded software, broadband connectivity solutions and wireless technologies. Candidates can expect to be involved in test specification, test automation, code reviews, performance testing and several other test and development activities. This position will require strong C++ coding skills, and good working knowledge of core internet protocols. Knowledge of 802.11, IPv6, ATM or of threat modeling and network security are also recommended. Understanding of embedded operating system design is required; experience developing in Windows CE is preferred. Ideal candidates will have strong test case development experience, and be able to mentor and support other testers in test development activities. Ideal candidates will also be able to troubleshoot and debug issues quickly and efficiently. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline is strongly preferred.

Software Test Lead (Req in Progress)

Are you interested in exciting new technology, and making it easier for our customers to use? The Hardware Division’s Broadband Networking team is seeking a highly motivated self starter with a passion for cutting edge consumer networking products to lead our software test team. Candidates should have a strong working knowledge of network and internet technologies at the protocol level. Candidates should possess the ability to drive for results in the face of rapid changes in technology. We have a dynamic, fast moving team that works closely with multiple disciplines, so good written and verbal communication skills will be required. Candidates should also have a strong working knowledge of test processes, the ability to read and review code, recognize automation opportunities and implement them. Demonstrable skill with at least one scripting language is preferred. Ideal candidates will have strong test case development experience, and be proficient in troubleshooting and debugging issues quickly and efficiently. Experience with network security testing is a big plus. Experience shipping products or deploying critical systems is also a plus. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related discipline, or equivalent experience is strongly preferred. Preferred candidates will also have at least 3 years industry experience in software testing.
