Thinking of getting a laptop

I know I could do much better, big screen and all that, but I want something ultra-portable (this is one of the heavier ones at 4.3 lbs - but it does have the built in DVD writer).

Anyone have any opinions? I have not shopped for a laptop in a while. I was looking at the

Fujitsu Lifebook T4220

I picked the single 2 gig simm as another 2 gigs will cost $400 more. I assume if not now within a few months I will be able to pick up another 2 gig simm for much less money.

Lenovo

cool I didn't even know they made ultra portables looking now.

Re: Lenovo

oh ultra portable. not sure what that means anymore.

the x60 is small but functional. but not a UMPC...who knows!

Re: Lenovo

Does the built in smart card reader (Gemplus GemPC400 Compact Smart Card Reader) work for MS VPN?

Re: Lenovo

yes. and ther bluetooth works well, too. and there is a way to install a sim card in this thing. cool little machine, though the keyboard takes some getting used to.

Re: Levano

yeah; i was going to suggest this. in my old company (playnetwork), 3 of the folks i worked with bought one of these (i think this was the model; i do know it was a lenova ultra-portable).

just over 3 lbs; it's a really nice, sleek machine!

try emailing my baby bro. he still does hardware and networking.
